CLOVERDALE – Norma J. Ladd, 83, of Cloverdale, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born September 19, 1939 in Ft. Jennings to the late Howard and Mary Olivia (Purdy) Parks and her adopted mother, Rose Schneeg. On September 3, 1955, she married William "Bill" Ladd, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2017.
Norma is survived by eight children: Richard Ladd of Columbus, William Ladd, Jr. of Oakwood, Elizabeth (Cline, Jr.) Dockery of Continental, Ed Ladd of Cloverdale, Tom (Lisa) Ladd, Sandi (Buck) Pratt, both of Ft. Jennings, Mary (Tom) Keller of Cloverdale and Don (Becky) Ladd of Oakwood; 27 grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bob (Carol) Purdy of Holgate and Chuck (Brenda) Purdy of St. Mary's; and a sister, Jeannette Burnett of Defiance.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Bill Purdy; and a brother-in-law, Jim Burnett.
Norma was a housewife and former Nurse's Aide. She was a member of Mandale Church of Christ and Christian Union. Norma loved playing cards, bingo, crafting, knitting, crocheting and doing various other activities at Vancrest of Delphos.
Funeral services for Norma will begin 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township with Pastor Tony Gonzales III. Burial will follow in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Thursday and 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Vancrest of Delphos Activity Fund.
