ORVILLE MASON
LIMA — Orville C. Mason, 88, of Lima, passed away 9:30 p.m. Friday evening, June 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 4, 1928 in Pineville, Kentucky to Leonard F and Mary (Money) Mason and they precede him in death. On October 29, 1988 he married Carol Smith and she survives him.
He is also survived by three stepchildren, four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He is survived by a brother, H.L. (Faye) Mason of Ada and a sister, Rowena (Wallace) Neal of Alger. He had been preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Orville had been employed at Clark Equipment/Lima Locomotive Works as a welder for twenty-eight and a half years. He retired from General Dynamics after tens years of service. He had been a Korean Conflict Army veteran. He was a member of the Lima Missionary Baptist Church and he used to bowl at the 20th Century Lanes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Lima Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Brock, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery where Post VFW 1275 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions can be made to the Putnam County Hospice. Online condolences can be made at www.siferd-oriansfuneralhome.com.
