LIMA — Owen Lee Patterson, age 68, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1952 in Gaston, N.C. to Marvin Lee Patterson and Alta Opal (Wright) Patterson who preceded him in death. He was formerly married to Shirley Knippen Patterson and she survives in Van Wert.
Surviving are his children: Stacey Summerfield of Adrian, MI, Brooke (George) Collins of Lima, Wesley (Dulcey) Patterson of Celina, Rebecca (Ryan) Short of Van Wert and Toni Hiegel of St. Marys; a sister, Patricia (Harold) Paradine of Adrian, MI and was the beloved grandfather of many grandchildren.
Owen was preceded in death by a brother, George "Eddy" Patterson.
He was formerly a semi-truck driver for many years, lastly hauling for Rocky Pine Trucking and for many years he drove semi for UPS. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 370 Lima. His primary occupation was being a Grandpa. He enjoyed billiards, golfing, riding his motorcycle and the Michigan Wolverines.
A private family service was held. Burial will be in Tecumseh, MI.
