PHILLIP HARPEST
LIMA — Phillip B. Harpest, age 65, was called into the presence of the Lord at 9:00 am Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at his home.
Phil was born January 15, 1951 in Lima, to Richard D. "Dick" and Dorothy J. (Neeley) Harpest who both preceded him in death.
Phil attended Lima Senior High School. He retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant and currently served as the Director of the Christian Corner Community Center. He was a Past Master of Fort Amanda Lodge #706 Free & Accepted Masons, Past High Priest of Lima Chapter #49 Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Lima Council #20 Royal & Select Masons and Past Commander of Shawnee Commandery #14 Knights Templar. Phil was also a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honour Ohio Priory #19, Lima Shrine Club and he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton. He attended Lima Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.
He was blessed with a daughter who he dearly loved, Carey J. (Daniel) Harner of Dayton.
Other survivors include, brother, David L. (Peggy) Harpest of Russells Point; nephew, Eric M. McComber, nephew, Christopher P. McComber, niece, Cassie (Josh) Stotler, nephew, Scott (Kali) Poynter, niece, Trisha Poynter and niece, Amy (Nathan) Combs.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha L. (Harpest) Wagner.
Funeral services will begin 4:00 pm Sunday, January 8, 2017 at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Terry Brock will officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 pm prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 3:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Corner Community Center, 1601 McClain Rd., Lima, Ohio 45804.

We would like to extend our sympathy to the family of Phil. I worked at ford with Phil. We did bowl together and we both were graduates of Lima Senior High school. He will be missed, but always will be remembered.

So sorry for your loss. We have know Phil for years. Bowled, Masonic and Ed worked with him at Ford Motor. Also worked with him Christian Corner Community Center. He was one of the kindest people we know.
