LIMA — Rebecca K. "Becky" Shaffer, 78, of Lima, died at 7:17 PM Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the Blanchard Valley Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, with her family at her side.
She was born May 30, 1942, in Lima, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Maureen (Sargent) Kline. On April 24, 1959, she married Dale Dean Shaffer, her love for 60 years, and he preceded her in death on April 19. 2019.
Also surviving are her three children, Steven (Dawn) Shaffer of Lima, Lori (Troy) Hooks of Lima and Duane (Jonna) Shaffer of Findlay; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Corey (Kym) and Kyle (Jenna) Shaffer, Joshua (Lindsay) and Alex Hooks, Rachael (Michael) Howard and Madison Shaffer, 9 great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law: Nancy and JoAnn Kline and Carole Shaffer and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her brothers; Daniel Kline, Reed Kline and Billy Kline and her brother-in-law Dewey Shaffer.
Becky attended the Elida Schools and graduated from Lima Senior High School and attended Lima Tech for two years. She was a homemaker, office worker and had formerly owned and operated Foster's Flowers in Spencerville. She and her husband loved to travel, making it to the 48 states. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their sports. She enjoyed Crocheting and doing Cross stitch.
Due to Covid-19, with face coverings, visitation for very close friends and the family will be from 1 until 3 PM Friday, March 12th, with funeral services to follow at 3 PM Friday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Todd Cosart officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in the Lewis Grove Cemetery in Bath Township.
