Richard Lepley Obituary
LIMA — Richard Eugene Lepley, age 92, was called into the presence of the Lord at 10:22 am Sunday, December 20, 2020, at The Springs of Lima.
Richard was born March 17, 1928 in Larwill, IN, to the late Harry and Pauline (Reckard) Lepley. On December 24, 1955 he married Kathryn (Sparlin) Lepley.
Richard was a 1946 graduate of Larwill High School, Larwill, Indiana and proudly served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949. Richard attended Purdue University from 1949 to 1953, earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was employed as a pipeline engineer with Sohio Pipeline Company from 1949 to 1955 and a process engineer at Sohio Lima Refinery from 1956 to 1962. He then worked for a commercial-industrial company for the next 31 years as a loss control engineer until his retirement in 1993. Richard was a member of Pike Mennonite Church and held a general class license in amateur radio. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Kathryn (Sparlin) Lepley of Lima; three children, Stephen A. (Karen) Lepley of Montague, MA, Bruce A. (Lorraine) Lepley of Gambrills, MD, and Sandra K. Honigford of Delaware; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Endersby of Medina, Chelsea Honigford of Canal Winchester, Katie (Jeremy) Parkins of Atlanta, GA, Kylie (Tim Lawrence) Honigford of Seattle, WA, Amanda Lepley of Gambrills, MD, Thomas Lepley of Bexley and James Lepley of Gambrills, MD; four great-grandchildren, Arabella, Brooklyn, William, Elivia; and a brother, Larry G. (Kay) Lepley of Columbia City, IN.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Guy L. (Savannah) Lepley, Wilbur C. (Marie) Lepley, and a sister, Wanda (Paul) Deininger.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic a private graveside service will be held with a celebration of life service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Dayton Veterans Hospital.
