LIMA -- Ronald Dean Johnson, age 84 of Lakeview and formerly of Lima, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 8:50 pm, Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born November 8, 1940, in Lima, to Lester and Leah Jane (Eversole) Johnson. His mother remarried Carl Yates after Lester's passing and they are all deceased. On October 29, 1960, he married Susan Margaret Fassel who survives.
Surviving are their sons: John (Mary Allison) Johnson of Wapakoneta and Bruce (Debi) Johnson of Lakeview; grandchildren: Mitchell (Alex Ronan) Johnson, Adam (Malia) Johnson, Aaron (Courtney) Johnson, Heidi (Jason) Sadler and Krisi Pauff; 9 great- grandchildren: Samantha, Katelyn, Cruz, McKenzie, Lyla, Cade, Sophia, Lincoln and Ronan; Susan's siblings: Joan (Andy dec'd) Bianco of Lima, Tom & Mary Jo Fassel of Belle Center, Karen (Jeff dec'd) Geiser of Muskegon, MI, and Fred (dec'd) Norene Fassel of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Douglas Johnson and Barbara White.
?Ron was a 1958 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He worked for White Chevrolet, Kenny's Auto Wrecking and retired after 38 years as the body shop manager at Stoops Freightliner. Some of his greatest joys in life were snowmobiling, riding his tractor and mowing his grass, fixing things and attending his grandchildren's events.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 4-8 p.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. His service will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
