ROSALIA WEGESIN

DELPHOS – Rosalia H. "Rose" Wegesin, 89, of Delphos, passed away Monday afternoon, May 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Her Family…. She was born June 11, 1927 in Ottoville to John and Theresa (Weber) Honigford, who both preceded her in death. She was previously married to Arthur Miller. On December 13, 1975 she married Henry "Hank" Wegesin.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Hank Wegesin of Delphos; her children, Kathleen Gasser of Delphos, William (Terri) Miller of Stephens City, Va., and Marilyn (Dennis) Klaus of Delphos; step-children, Kathy (Bill) Hittle of Lima, Karen Suever of Boyertown, Pa., Nancy Saum of Hilliard, Judy (John) Rable of Lima and Henry (Cheryl) Wegesin, Jr. of Middle Point; 10 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren with one due in June; and 18 step-great-grandchildren with one due this month.

She is also survived by a brother Walter (Paulette) Honigford of Delphos; a sister Anna Marie Kahle of Ottawa; and sisters-in-law, Doris Honigford, Val Pizzillo, Barb Geiger, and Dot (Gene) Shumaker.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Beckler; brothers, Urban (Bud) Honigford, Alfred Honigford, Victor Honigford and Roger Honigford; brother and sisters-in-law, Robert Wegesin, Delores Dienstberger, Dorothy Honigford, Marge Honigford, and Cy Kahle.

Her Legacy…. Rose was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was also a member of the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary, a social member of Delphos VFW and a member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie 471. She retired from Lima Westgate K-Mart. She was also co-owner with her husband of Bry Nad Sign Company in Delphos. Rose enjoyed gardening, camping, and traveling, crossword puzzles, playing games on her iPad and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing games and teaching them to play cards. Rose also enjoyed bowling and was on several leagues in Delphos. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. She was well known for her fried chicken and delicious homemade pies. Her storytelling, laughter, and unconditional love will be missed by all.

Her Farewell Services.… Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. and a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Church or Community Health Professionals Hospice. I worked with Rose at K Mart way back, but what a wonderful lady, we always had fun and yes her stories were great.
