ROSEMARY LAMMERS
OTTAWA — Rosemary Lammers, 93, of Ottawa died 6:13 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born April 3, 1920 in Glandorf to the late Edward and Adelaide (Stechschulte) Drerup. She was married to Charles Lammers, who preceded her in death.
Rosemary is survived by her brother: John (Helen) Drerup of Van Buren; 4 sisters-in-law: Betty Drerup of Seminole, FL, Eileen Drerup and Ruth Drerup, both of Ottawa, and Jayne Wolford of Findlay; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 5 brothers: Walter Drerup, Elmer Drerup, Clayton Drerup, James Drerup and Robert Drerup and 6 sisters: Louise Wright, Norma Haley, Marie White, Mildred Coverston, Rita Wagner and Dolores Oskey.
Rosemary was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. She retired from Westinghouse in Lima after 37 years where she had been their first woman supervisor. She had been a Charter Member of Door Yard Garden Club, the Ohio Division of the Women's National Farm and Garden Association. Over the years, she had been very active in the garden club and frequently lectured on herbal gardening and was a Master Gardener.
Rosemary loved to cook and entertain in style. She had traveled extensively around the United States and had also been on a safari in Africa. Rosemary loved fishing and even traveled to the Penny Ice Cap in Alaska to fish for 8 days. She obtained her pilot's license after the age of 50 and did a cross county flight with her sister-in-law, who also had a pilot's license.
A memorial mass will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Father Matt Jozefiak officiating. Arrangements under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosemary Lammers Educational Scholarship.
