LIMA — Ruth Boyd, 91, passed away at 11:09 p.m. on October 6, 2021, at Gardens of Celina. Ruth was born on January 15, 1930, in Putnam Co, Ohio, to the late Harold W and Esther M. (McAnall) Boyd.
Ruth was a member of Southside Christian Church. She attended Elkhart University earning a degree for Medical Secretary. She was employed by F. Miles Flickinger, M.D. for many years. She was a former member off the YWCA; Allen County American Heart Association; Lima Chapter DAR and Dilettante. Ruth was also a past Matron of Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star along with being treasurer; and a past Deputy Grand Matron, State of Ohio, District #8 Grand Appointments Association.
She is survived by a sister-in-law Phyllis Boyd; nieces & nephews, Steven "Steve" (Diana) Penhorwood, Sue (Mark) Waller, and Stephen (Shirley) Boyd; great-nieces & nephews, Kelly (Brett) Sciotto, Kris (Cory) Howell, Amy (Jason) Grunden, Jay (Caroline) Clark, Elizabeth Kudlaty, Michael Kudlaty, D. J. Boyd, Stephanie Boyd; great-great- nieces & nephews, Brinley Rahn, Ellie Rahn, Abigail Sciotto, Ava Howell, Camden Howell, Abram Grunden, Andersyn Grunden, Theodore Grunden, Georgiana Clark and Miles Clark.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Penhorwood, and a brother David Boyd and a niece Bethany Boyd.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and one hour prior to service Thursday at the church.
The funeral service will begin at 11 :00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Southside Christian Church. Rev. Todd Cosart and Wanda Werking will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Oh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southside Christian Church.
