ELIDA - Sally L. Baumgardner age 78, of Elida was called home to the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at Roselawn Manor. She was born March 22, 1943, in Hanover. PA to the late John Lewis and Rosella (Resh) Shultz.
She married Edward L. Baumgardner June 14, 1964, and he survives in Elida. Sally graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1961 and attended Indiana State University in PA. She had been active in her children's lives being a Girl Scout leader, member of the Shawnee Middle School Parent Council and a Shawnee Band Parent. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, watching for dolphins and wintering in South Carolina hunting for lighthouses.
Additional family members include children: Stacey Baumgardner of Spencerville, Edward (Julie) Baumgardner, Jr. of Frisco, TX and Marcia (Jason) Zeroll of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren: Maison Zeroll, Blake Baumgardner and Brady Baumgardner; brother Jack (Marilyn) Shultz of Hanover, PA; sister-in-law Barbara (Baumgardner) Hoffman of Hanover, PA and 6 nieces.
She was preceded in death by a sister Sue Ann (Gene) Bowser. The family will receive friends 9:30 to 11 Monday, January 17 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Cridersville. The funeral will follow at 11 with Pastor Sam Payne officiating and burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery. Following CDC guidelines, the family request that facemask be used. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at BayliffAndSon.com.
