LIMA -- Vicki A. (Garrettson) Reeder, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:18 AM on July 24, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on November 29, 1938 in Parkersburg, WV to Rinaldo Victor and Doris (Powell) Garrettson Jr., who both preceded her in death.
On September 4, 1965 she married Larry Reeder who survives. Vicki is also survived by her three children: Cindy Reeder of Lima, Brad Reeder of Lima, and Pam Reeder of Saudi Arabia; grandson Micah Reeder; sister-in-law Judy Rex of Spencerville; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Rinaldo Victor and Doris Garrettson, Jr., brother Rinaldo Victor Garrettson III, sisters-in-law Linda Garrettson and Lois McDermitt, brothers-in-law Robert McDermitt and James Rex, and daughter-in-law Marnie Reeder.
Vicki was a 1957 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She worked as a secretary at Buckeye Pipeline, in retail at The Leader, as secretary of Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville and then HCF Management Inc., as office administrator at Shawnee Alliance Church in Lima, and administrative assistant at the Appleseed Ridge Girl Scout Council. She was an active member of Shawnee Alliance Church where she faithfully served with the missions committee, including coordinating and traveling with missions' trips, Alliance Women on the local, district and national level, prayer chain ministry, and coordinator of the Keenagers' (senior citizens') ministry.
She also started a Beulah Beach Camp and Retreat Center work team in 2008 for church attendees to prepare the grounds for its summer camp season. She traveled to 48 U.S. states and 12 countries, was a dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds, and enjoyed playing bridge. Vicki was a charter member of Beta Omega, a sorority chartered in Lima in 1962, served as general chairman of the Allen County Junior Miss pageant in 1970, and was selected as National Sigma Beta Girl of the Year that same year.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Shawnee Alliance Church, 4455 Shawnee Road, Lima where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Rev. Kris Browning will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Interim Healthcare Hospice for the care and compassion given to their wife and mother.

What a classy, wonderful lady. I have so many memories of her, Larry and the entire Reeder family. in particular our camping trips to Indian Lake and Bible school at Trinity.

While Larry and the kids will miss Vicki, so will I, for I considered Vicki a wonderful sister in Christ and a friend, looking out for me and praying for me. An awesome, hard worker for the church of Jesus Christ at Shawmee Alliance church.
