LIMA -- Vicki L. Smith, age 64, passed away November 3, 2022, at 2:18 pm, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, OH. Vicki was born November 3, 1958, in Lima, OH, to Marlyn L. (Phillips) Miles who survives in Columbus, OH. In addition to her mother, Vicki is survived by her children: Dontae (Paulina) Miles of Pickerington, OH, DeAngelo Miles of Lima, OH, Robert (Marnisha) Haithcock of Columbus, OH, Lakrisha Haithcock of Columbus, OH, Barry (Jerica) Ward of Lima, OH, Chandra (Keon) Broadus of Columbus, OH and Victoria (John Mahinay) Ware of Columbus, OH, 31 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 siblings: Lee (Annette) Miles of Lima, OH, Kimberly Howard of Columbus, OH, Leonard Miles Jr. of Columbus, OH, Shawn Miles of Bluffton, IN and Kimberly Arrick of Lima, OH. She is also survived by her best friends: Tammy Krug, Beth Sibert and Annette Rupert. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Leonard Miles Sr. and a brother, Timothy Miles.

Vicki was a 1975 graduate of Lima Senior High School and The Ohio State University-Lima Campus where she earned a degree in Nursing. She had worked for more than 20 years as a registered nurse with the Ohio Department of Corrections until she retired. Vicki loved to crochet, fish and taking care of her plants and her dogs.Vicki also enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as always taking care of and helping anyone in need and was considered to be the "glue of the family".

There will be a home going service held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremations Services, Shawnee Chapel where friends can visit from 12 noon until the time of the service.
