HARROD - Virginia Lee "Ginger" Hill, 82 of Harrod, passed away August 10, 2023, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Ginger was born February 24, 1941, in Lima to Forest and Beryl (Carl) Armentrout, who preceded her in death.
On August 15, 1959, she married Charles Hill, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Ginger was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. After marriage, she was a homemaker and raised her daughters. She then went on to work at her family business, Army's Auto Wrecking until her retirement in 2013. She was an active member of First Evangelical and Reformed Church where she was very involved in church functions, and she had a strong faith in God's promises that helped her through the difficult times.
Ginger was a talented artist who used her talents to make various pottery and clay items for her business, Gingerhill Claywork, and she enjoyed teaching children how to do the same in weekly classes at her home. She painted beautiful oil paintings and loved gifting her artwork to family and friends. Ginger enjoyed gardening and canning her vegetables, as well as landscaping around her house. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially putting on holiday family dinners and Saturday spaghetti suppers.
Ginger is survived by her daughter, Heather Hill; grandchildren Hannah (Kodi) Paulus, Katie Mae Houser and Justin (Joan) Morgan; great-grandchildren, Hadley Mae Paulus and Kenli Ann Paulus; sisters, Paula (Bill) Rentz, Anne Spencer and Kathy (Willie) Williams; brother, Bill (Josh Fischer) Armentrout and her family friend and longtime caregiver, Gail Lovett.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Anne (R.C. Morgan) Hill. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on August 18, 2023, at First Evangelical and Reformed Church with Alicia Moore to officiate the service. Burial will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Evangelical and Reformed Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
