LIMA — Mr. Willie "Big Daddy" Slash, Jr., age 82, passed from this life on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at approximately 6:20 a.m. at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC.
He was born on July 5, 1938 in Pearisburg, Virginia to Willie and Blanche (Davis) Slash, Sr.; both parents preceded him in death.
On June 30, 1957 he was united in holy matrimony to Mary E. (Willis) Slash, she preceded him in death.
Mr. Slash retired from Teledyne Ohio Steel and then worked at White Chevrolet and S & S Volvo. He was united with Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He was very active in the Bulldogs Midget Football Team and he loved the Ohio State University.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory a son; Willie Slash, III of Lima. 3 daughters; Linda L. Slash of Mauldin, SC. Tina Slash and M. Mishelle Slash both of Roanoke, VA. 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. A Godson; Lawrence Thompson, Jr. of Lima. 2 special daughters; Stacey Rose (Belgium) of Lima and Phyllis Brewton of Ellenwood, GA. A host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Mary Freeman and Delores Dean.
Home going services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. B. LaMont Monford, Sr., officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services also at the Funeral Home, Inc.
