LIMA - Wilma May Johnson, 95, passed away on December 23, 2025, at Primrose Retirement Community.
Wilma was born on May 25, 1930, in Cambridge, Ohio, to Paul A. and Jenna (Robinette) Holmes. On February 14, 1950, she married Donald E. Johnson, who preceded her in death on January 23, 2011.
Wilma was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir for many years and was in the Share Circle. She was a member of the Children's Conservation League. She worked as a bookkeeper at several local businesses, including her husband's floral shop. She volunteered at and served on the board of Crossroads Crisis Center. She also served at the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky. Wilma had a calling to love the broken hearted, help with the down-trodden, and serve her Lord with her time, talents, and treasure.
She enjoyed watercolor painting, quilting, and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who were very dear to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Allen) Moeller; sons, Douglas (Michelle) Johnson, and James (Vicki) Johnson; grandchildren: Andrew (Rebekah) Johnson, Chase (Laura) Johnson, Haley (Virgil) Ellett, Ashley (John) Pugh, Timothy (Celeste) Johnson, Abigail (Matt) Francis, Jeanna (Logan) Hawk, Nicole (Matt) Lunn, Kelli (Brian) Albers, Tricia (Tony) Henry, Cody Howard, and Cole (Jessica) Howard; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred "Midge" Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Shawnee Alliance Church, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Her grandson, Pastor Andrew Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guiding Light Ministries. Arrangements handled by Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Johnson Family: I enjoyed that no matter the day Wilma always had a smile. I got to know her through church and the flower shop, but reacquainted with her at Primrose. She will be missed. Bless you all.
