Jonathan Bendall Obituary

Jonathan "Jon" Michael Bendall, 32, beloved eldest son of Nancy Sue and Charles Michael Bendall of Troy, passed into rest on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at home surrounded by his family, after more than two years battling brain cancer.
Jon was born May 16, 1984, at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis. He moved, shortly after birth, with his parents to Troy and lived there his whole life. Jon graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 2002 and afterwards received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetville, in 2007. He worked at Hill Partnership Architects in Wentzville and later at Jinkerson Guttering in Troy.
He had many interests and all involved being with people. Jon loved camping and fishing, playing and attending various sports activities with high school buddies. He had a very active board gaming group of friends in the St. Louis area, who in addition to regular local events also traveled together to other cities to participate in board game gatherings, wonderful people who were very supportive of Jon throughout his illness. In addition, he and his mother spent many hours playing board games at home. He loved music and attended concerts and enjoyed listening to live jazz music with his father. With his brother Ben, he enjoyed tennis and Frisbee golf and with his sister Lara, he watched anime and attended concerts. Jon enjoyed family get-togethers across the country, many in Memphis, Tenn. and Springfield, Mo and very much liked being with relatives as there were no close relatives nearby. Jon also loved and valued volunteering at the Troy Bread for Life Food Pantry. He frequently said how much he admired his fellow volunteers and counted them as good friends. He helped there weekly even after becoming sick as he felt the gravity of assisting folks in need. He also later helped his mom deliver meals to shut-ins in the area with a program through LCCOA.
Jon leaves his parents, his brother Benjamin Bendall and Erica Blansit of Rogers, AR and his sister Lara and husband Bobby Mobley of Hannibal as well as his grandmother Dorothy Reger of Memphis, Tenn.. He leaves behind a large group of aunts, uncles and cousins.
He will be cremated, per his wishes and a Celebration of Life will be held in Troy at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory.
