My condolences to the family of Albert Eckhoff Jr. My memories of Al go back to the days when we were at Iles Elementary School. I just have good memories of him from those days. We would walk home from school together sometimes. We were good friends as little guys. Whenever I would think about Iles, I would think about Al. I'm sorry to hear of his passing but very grateful that our paths crossed when they did.

I lost a good friend and mentor. Al hired me as a prep cook when I was just 16. I followed him around for a few years. He taught me a lot and gave me my first chef job when I was 20. I probably would still be trying to paint cars if not for Al's influence. I owe him a lot and I will never forget him. Hope I have helped some people form their careers as Al helped me. That would be a lasting tribute to a very good man, friend and mentor.

My Uncle Al....Where to even start....You were truly one of a kind. You were like a father to me, my best friend and guide. I looked up to you and learned so much.Your infectious personality, wittiness, your story telling and your ability to light up a room and make people laugh was second to none. You will be missed by so many.
