LINCOLN - Donny D. Wilcoxson, 70, of Lincoln passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at home surrounded by the love of his family.
A Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday also at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be at a later date.
Donny was born August 8, 1942, in Mason City, IL, the son of Thurman Luther and Ruby (Lyle) Wilcoxson. He married Nena Worthey in October of 1980.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Donny was employed in maintenance at Friendship Manor for several years. He was also employed in maintenance at the Holiday Inn in Lincoln prior to working at Friendship Manor. He worked at Water Works in Mason City and was a Mason City Police Officer earlier in his life.
He was a member and current President of the Oddfellows. He was an avid reader and enjoyed history books.
Surviving are his wife, Nena Wilcoxson of Lincoln; son, Alan (Dawn) Wilcoxson of Lincoln; daughter, Tina ( Ty) Scherler of Elmwood; daughter, Gena Richmond of Lincoln, daughter Tamara Wilcoxson of Mt. Pulaski, 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grand-daughter; sister, Margaret Dye of Mason City; and brother, Lou Wilcoxson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, and his twin brother, Danny.
Memorials may be made to Memorial Home Hospice or to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear this. Donny was an old friend. He had a golden heart. My sypathy to his family. I worked with him on the Mason City Police Dept.

Donny is my Aunt Dena's brother in law and I believe Donny was my father in laws cousin. (Aaron Wilcoxson). My deepest sympathies to the entire Wilcoxson family.
