Glenn R. Gill
LINCOLN - Glenn R. Gill, Sr., 79, of Clinton died at 3:10 P.M. on Sunday December 16, 2012 at Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton.
Glenn was born on October 13, 1933, son of Glenn C. and Helen Harden Gill. He was united in marriage to Shirley Gillum on September 16, 1956 in Mt. Pulaski, IL. She survives him in Clinton. He is also survived by his children: Pamela Johnson (Eddie) of Clinton; Glenn (Cassie) Gill, Jr. of Elizabethtown, KY; Brian Gill of Shiloh, IL.; three brothers: Robert (Esther) Gill; Roger (Cynthia) and Rex Gill, all of Lincoln; five sisters: Betty (Ron) Hulva of E. Peoria; Dorothy (Jerry) Dambacher; Georgia (Larry) Horchem; Ruth Stiles, all of Lincoln and Shirley (Darrell) Dambacher of Lake Fork; fifteen grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters; one son; three grandchildren and three sisters.
Glenn retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service from 1952-1972. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.
Services for Glenn will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. Tami Werschey-Kissinger conducting the services. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the funeral home. A burial will follow the funeral service at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery, Mt. Pulaski, IL. Military rites will be accorded by the the American Legion Post 447. Memorials may be made to the family.
