Gilbert Waymeyer Obituary

Gilbert "Gil" Waymeyer passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 96. Born to Frank and Hilda Waymeyer (née Albers), Gil lived a life rooted in family, quiet strength, and appreciation for the simple things. He married Lois (née Connelly), his loving wife of 67 years, and together they built a loving home, raising three Children: Steve (Vickie), Andy (Lisa), and Wray (Troy). He was a proud grandfather to Stephanie (Steven), Michael (Sherry), Danielle (Nick), Jordan (Amy), Chelsea, and Craig (Kayla), and was blessed with eight great-grandchildren. Gil is also survived by his sisters Loraine Phelps and Rosemary Schepker, and his brother James (Betty Lou) Waymeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rob and Bud. A man of steady presence and few complaints, Gil enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing-especially on trips with his family to Canada, Michigan, Florida, Southern Kentucky, and Mackinac Island. He valued time with family above all and found joy in everyday moments. Visitation will be held Friday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. John's Cemetery immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of St. Elizabeth or the Passionist Nuns
