Harry C. “Butch” Burns, 76, of Burlington passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood.
Butch was born in Petersburg, Kentucky on April 21, 1948, to Edwin A. and Harriet (Jarboe) Burns. He was a member of the Petersburg Christian Church and served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army.
Butch was retired from the Boone Co. Public Works Department and for many years, has been the caretaker of the Boone Co. Fairgrounds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin A. and Harriet Burns; son, Harry C. “Jr” Burns, Jr.; sister, Sandy Koching; and brothers, Robert Burns, Edwin Burns and Larry Burns.
Survivors include his daughter, Connie (Carl) Currier; sisters, Pam (Ronald) Fleek and Toni (Tina Adams) Burns; brother, Ronald (Judy) Burns; former wife, Carol S. Roland; grandson, Zackery Currier; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Boone Co. Fairgrounds Floral Exhibit Hall and again on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Floral Exhibit Hall. Funeral services to begin at 1:00 pm. Interment with Military Honors will be in Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg, KY.
