Katherine Atchison Obituary

Katherine "Renée" Atchison (née Martin) of New Lebanon, Ohio, formerly of Florence, Kentucky passed away September 2, 2025, at 8:41 p.m. Renee was a radiant soul, a ray of sunshine who lit every room with her joy. She loved deeply and found peace in caring for her family, tending to them as tenderly as she did her flowers, watching both grow and bloom. Her laughter-bubbly and bright-was a gift she shared freely, filling hearts with warmth. She adored her faithful companions, Archie and Buddy Brown, with fearless devotion. Renee's spirit was light, love, and laughter-an everlasting glow that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her. Renee was Born July 7, 1982, and graduated from Boone County High School in 2000. Renee later graduated from Gateway Community College with an associate's degree in applied sciences and then attended Northern Kentucky University. Renee was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for 17 years. Most recently she was a Realty Specialist for the Internal Revenue Service Facilities Management and Securities Services Project Management Office. She was a Member of Miamisburg American Legion Post 165 Auxiliary and the Kentucky Airstream Club. She was preceeded in death by her Grandparents Robert and Juana Martin; Father-in-Law, Lawrence "Larry" Atchison. Renee is survived by her husband, Richard "Rick" Atchison, Daughters Kylie (Nick) Losekamp and Ashley Atchison; Parents Arthur "Artie" and Pamela "Pam" Martin; Grandparents Sallie and Willard Blue; siblings Jason (Michelle) Martin, Sarah (Patrick) Bailey, Krishna (Greg) Tanner; Uncles Jeff (Karen) Martin, Randy (So Young) Blue and Brent Blue; Aunt Amy (Brian) Kilpatrick; Cousins Kevin Agnew and Austin (Kaitlyn) Agnew, Brothers in Law Chris Atchison, Jason (Leighann) Atchison; Nieces and Nephews Iris and Rex Bailey, Kadie, Alex, Bentley, Brooklyn, Bailey, and Beckett Atchison, and Riven and Laiken Tanner; and many close friends. Renée enjoyed traveling, gardening, hosting family, and earned the nickname "Gourmet Renee" due to her culinary prowess. She loved the hijinks and shenanigans of her two German Shorthaired Pointers Buddy Brown and Archie.
