Kathryn Bitter Obituary

Kathryn M. Bitter, 81, passed away Sunday June 8, 2025 at her residence in Edgewood KY. She lived an incredible life loving her family and working hard in the construction and demolition industries. She was honored to be the first female heavy equipment operator in the local 18 International union of operating engineers. She was a mentor to many and a friend to all. She will be incredibly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Kathryn Meyer, brothers Louis Meyer III, John Meyer, first husband Joseph Lubrecht, second husband Roy Bitter and son James Gregory Lubrecht. Survivors include her son Joseph (Tricia) Lubrecht, son Robert A. (Dianna Weatherford) Lubrecht, daughter Jennifer (Alan) Weinberg, son Tom (Lynne) Lubrecht, step-son Robert (Diane) Bitter, step-son Mark (Shelly) Bitter, step-daughter Vicki (Mike Esposito) Bitter, and step-son John Bitter. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday June 12, 2025 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm with a celebration of life service to follow at Evelyn M. Kalb Gathering House Florence Nature Park 7200 Nature Park Drive, Florence KY 41042. Memorial contributions can be made to the Steinford Toy Foundation P.O. Box 17634 Covington, KY 41017.
