Marilyn Day Obituary

Marilyn Joyce (nee Kist) Day, our beloved mother, passed away in Hospice of Hamilton Ohio at the age of 88 on March 13, 2024.
Marilyn a Colerain Township, Ohio resident, was born August 1, 1935, at home on Sheed Road, Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Reinhart and Marie (Koenig) Kist. Marilyn will be missed deeply by her children: Ed (Beth) Day, Marlene (Sonny) Angne, Pat (Jackie) Day, Tony Day and Kathy (Stan) Foley. Marilyn was also a cherished Grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Botts of Cincinnati, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews and close family friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Day, brothers: Reinhardt, Bernard, Edwin, Frederick, William, and Raymond Kist. Sisters: Mary Kist, Dorothy Henkenbems, Anna Mae Egan, Margaret Koehler, Louise Sunderhaus and her twin Marie Kist.
Marilyn was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need. She was a long-standing member of St John the Baptist Church, Dry Ridge, Ohio. She was a woman of faith who lived by God's word and instilled that love in to everyone she touched. Because of her love and belief, she made such a positive impact on all those she knew that she left this world a better place because of it. Because of her love and devotion, Marilyn's spirit will continue to live on through all those who loved her.
Marilyn was known and loved for her cooking and baking skills' Her famous chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were requested almost daily! They were that delicious! If she didn't show up with her cupcakes people were very disappointed! Her fried chicken, roast, green beans and potatoes, and chicken and dumplings were everyone's favorite. She loved to make her children and their spouses their favorite meals on their birthdays as a special treat! She was an amazing woman and her children will be forever grateful for her love.
Marilyn loved playing bingo and card games! She loved listening to her Cincinnati Reds! Win or lose she was a fan! Later in life, she became quite the crafter! Marilyn was one of the hardest-working women you would ever know! She leaves behind a legacy of love. Our wish for all is that you find happiness in your heart when you think of her.

So sorry for your loss. We all loved Marilyn and her cupcakes. I loved taking her and Mom to the chicken dinners and going to see Thelma. We had so much fun together. Sending prayers for family.
