Michael Young Obituary

Michael Allen Young was born on August 31, 1964, in Portsmouth, VA. He transitioned from this life to be with the Lord on September 7, 2025. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James Crawford Sr. and Margaret Ann (Webb) Young. Michael was a graduate of Dixie Heights High School and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville (Speed School). He retired from AT&T after 30 years of faithful service. Michael spent many years volunteering with different organizations, but Black Achievers was where his heart was rooted. He was deeply committed and compassionate about the future of every young person that he met. Michael was united in marriage to Stephanie Kaye Crenshaw, and they celebrated 27 years of marriage on July 25, 2025. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his daughter, Samantha Young; as well as his stepdaughters, LeAndra and Candice Bailey; and his grandson, Levon Lee (Little Buddy); One brother, James Young Jr. (Ursala); one uncle, Charles Richard Webb; two nephews, James Young (Patricia), and Jonathan Young. Shirley Gray (Devoted Angel) Thank you! Special friends, Rick (Cathy) Hinkle, Bob (Maria) Mitchell, and John Richie; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. His journey through life was marked by zest and cherished memories with family and friends. His love for people was unique, and he never met a stranger. Once he developed a bond with you, it was for life. Good night, Michael, take your rest. You are forever in our hearts. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Elsmere, 1007 Garvey Avenue, Erlanger (41018). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 12:00 pm. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3227 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
