Paula Davis Obituary
Paula Kim Davis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 20, 1955. Paula departed this life on March 9, 2025 at the age of 69. Paula's father, Fredrick Davis was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and her mother, Dorothy Cantrell Davis was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They met in Cincinnati, Ohio, got married and started a family. Paula attended Garfield Elementary and graduated from Taft High School in 1973, where she was captain of the drill team. Paula was known as "Mrs. Polite."
In the early 70s, her first job was working at a nursing home in Avondale. She retired from Job and Family Services as an administrative assistant ambassador. She loved going to bingo and the casino and playing her lottery numbers. She would win big often. She was also very creative. She would design and use her sewing machine to make, not only clothes, but purses and hats. She also loved to cook, play music and play her jacks and hula hoop. Paula was picked to be an extra in two movies: City of Hope staring John Sayles and Traffic staring Michael Douglas and Don Cheadle.
She loved spending time with her family. Paula will always be known as a great mother and caregiver. She was smart, brave, determined, creative and a great educator. She loved helping others. She was a versatile, ambitious, intelligent and caring woman.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Davis, Sr. and Dorothy Cantrell Davis; siblings, Rena Davis, Vincent Davis and Mark Davis. She leaves to cherish her memory, siblings, Fred Davis, Jr., Victor Davis, Carmen Davis, Pamela Davis, Deborah Davis; her three children, Eugene R. Fairbanks, Nicole L. Davis and Charlene M. Davis; ten grandchildren, London Shaw, Trayonna and Traquan Fields, Amari Heath, DeMari Warner, Rayven Fairbanks, Rayshell Fairbanks, Eugene Fairbanks, Jr., D'Marion Clark and Emoni Fairbanks; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Gathering of family and friends is from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The memorial service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:30 pm.
