1944 - 2025

KAY MORGAN On April 11, 2025, Kay Morgan passed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. It was on Monday, March 20, 1944, in Marceline, Mo., at 4 p.m. that the Lord blessed the home of Edwin Maxwell and Ruth Fern (Smay) Yates with the gift of a daughter that they named Anita Kay. She grew up and attended school in Marceline. On October 2, 1965, she married Lonnie Ken Morgan. Kay was blessed with the gift of three children: Bethany Lyn (Morgan) Marcum and husband Conley of Anchorage, Alaska; Kaden Cole Morgan of Green Ridge, Mo.; and Lesley Janene (Morgan) Craig and husband Stanley of Green Ridge. Kay moved to Kansas City in 1963 and worked at National Bellas Hess. She raised her children in Marceline, working at Herff Jones for 13 years and then Walsworth Publishing Company for 20 years. After retiring, she moved to Green Ridge, where she was a member of El Dorado United Methodist Church. She loved working at her church, gardening, knitting, reading, and spending time with her little companion, Rudy. Kay is survived by her children; her sister, Janice Yates of Marceline; her sisters-in-law, Stephanie Yates of Lehi, Utah, and Kathie Sue Koca of Forsyth, Mo.; grandchildren Matthew, Loretta, Phoenix, and Brooklyn; bonus children Elaina, Brittany, Mariah, and Eva; step-grandchildren Sam and Levi; great-grandchildren Maylynne, Kayson, and Brinley; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Dwight Edwin Yates.
