LORENE MEISSEN 05/09/1923 - 06/10/2025 Lorene F. Meissen, 102, of Salisbury, Mo., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline, Mo. Lorene was born May 9, 1923, in Salisbury, the daughter of Henry H. and Anna (Wienhaus) Henke. She married William Joseph Meissen on May 10, 1943, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1992. Lorene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had served as president of the St. Joseph Altar Sodality. She loved to garden and her flower beds were the talk of the community. She enjoyed quilting and shared them with family members. For many years she drove people of the community to their doctor appointments. Lorene is survived by four sons Edward (Emelia) Meissen, Raymond Meissen, Ralph (Shelley) Meissen, all of Salisbury, Leroy (Becky) Meissen of Sturgeon, Mo., four daughters Marjorie Krumpelman of Marceline, Carolyn Stundebeck of Salisbury, Judy (Steve) Fuemmeler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Betty (Steve) Arp of Indian Grove, Mo., a brother Fred (Pat) Henke of Salisbury, a sister Norma Lou Linneman of Salisbury, 26 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law Jean Henke of Salisbury and Helen Henke of Fayette, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, infant daughter, brothers Leonard (Regina) Henke, Wilfred Henke, Marvin (Delma) Henke, Harold Henke, sister Bernilda (Leonard) Fessler, brother-in-law Robert Linneman, two sons-in-law John Kumpelman, John Stundebeck, two infant grandsons and several infant great-grandchildren. Vigil services were Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Visitation followed from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Church Restoration Fund.
