MARY ANN ALMOND

MARY ANN ALMOND 10/26/1950 - 10/06/2025 Mary Ann Almond, 74, of New Boston, Mo., passed away on October 6, 2025, at Saint Luke's North Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Mary Ann was born on October 26, 1950, in Quincy, Ill., the daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Cox) Ellison. She was a 1969 graduate of Brookfield High School. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Virgil Herman Almond and together they made their home in New Boston. She worked as a postmaster for the United States Postal Service, where she proudly served her community. Mary Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, caring for her grandchildren, and spending time on the farm raising horses with her husband. She loved her cats, dogs, and most all animals. Survivors include her children, Heather Riley (Terry) of New Boston, Aron Almond (Lesley) of St. Catharine, Ryan Almond (Brooke) of New Boston, and Haley Marler (Cory) of Villa Ridge; nine grandchildren, Damara Riley, Sierra Riley, Jaron Almond, Jordyn Almond, Lila Marler, Charlee Marler, Ryker Marler, Tucker Almond, and Turner Almond; a brother, Larry Ellison (Sherry) of Brookfield; a sister, Geraldine Gladbach of Mendon; her mother, Marjorie Ellison; and brother-in-law, Randy Almond (Mary Carol), along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Almond; father, Bernard Ellison; sister, Margaret Dowell; father-and mother-in-law, Carl and Mabel Almond; and two infant sons. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline. The family received friends Thursday evening, October 9, 2025, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
