Carol Rowland Obituary
CAROL ANN Age 81, passed away November 18, 2016. She was born on January 26, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Marshall Stewart and Marian (Kurzava) Borton. Carol married her beloved husband of 63 years, Lawrence Rowland on August 18, 1953. Remembering Carol, she loved dancing with Larry, listening to Elvis, and reading, especially Nora Roberts novels. Her favorite places included Strawberry Lake, Nashville, Gatlinburg, Hilton Head, and home. She was the Postmaster in Hamburg for 23 years and so she was well known by everyone in town, to the point that customers would stop by the post office just to visit her. Carol was lovingly dedicated to Larry, her children, and grandchildren, attending all their school and sports activities. Her Family... Carol is survived by her children, Vicki (Bill) Reck, Greg (Kim) Rowland and Jeff (Elissa) Rowland; sister, Marilyn (Jim) Bennett; grandchildren, Jason (Lauren), Elizabeth (Adam), Michael, Madelyn, Tess, Anna Kate; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Grace, Paige. Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Rowland on August 20, 2016. Her Farewell... Carol's family and friends will gather 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Community Farewell will be held at 11:00 a.m. (10:00 a.m. Gathering) on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Borek Jennings Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Welser will serve as celebrant.
