Marco Bernardo May 21, 2017 Age 31. Proud graduate of Brother Rice High School ('04) and Purdue University ('08). Project Manager and Estimator for his family's company, Area Construction and Fairmount Properties. Beloved husband of Sarah (nee Valovich). Devoted father of Rocco and George. Dear son of Antonio and Suzanne. Loving brother of A. Christopher (Anna), David (Teresa), Carolina Sweeting (Christian) and Michael (Gurianna). Uncle of many dear nieces and nephews, and beloved owner of his dog, Gus. Services were held at Holy Name Church, Birmingham. Just heard about this. I knew Marco from when I attended Sacred Heart for the 4th and 5th grades. He was a friendly guy, and probably the most popular. I do remember Marco making me feel welcome in my first weeks at SH especially. I actually was influenced into watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air because of Marco's discussions about the show. From time to time I have wondered about my classmates (from all my various schools) who stood out-people that made an impression, and Marco definitely was one of them.In lower school, we are quite immature. People move on so quickly in life that it is difficult to keep in touch. Life's pace is fast and one loses contact with people. The importance of keeping friendships can not be emphasized enough. I wish I had made more of an effort to stay in touch with my former classmates such as Marco. To that end, I give my condolences to the parents, wife, and siblings.-ZK
