MICHAEL Of Macomb Township, passed away March 30, 2016 while at his Florida residence. Born in Detroit in 1930, Mike had just celebrated his 91st birthday, and lived those 91 years to the fullest. As a young man, Mike earned an Engineering degree from Lawrence Tech and used his skills at many companies until settling at the Chrysler Tank Plant and retiring from General Dynamics in 1989. During these years, he met, fell in love with and married his wife Delores Melzanni Cammarata (deceased). Together they raised a family until Delores's premature death in 1981. Later in life, Mike would meet a new love that put the sparkle back in his heart. Leokadia Marshall (deceased May 9, 2016) became his constant companion and soul mate. They spent 18 wonderful years together truly being each other's best friend. Michael loved to cook and he loved his family. He and Leo would spend many summer weekends treating us to his famous BBQ ribs, Caesar Salad and home made gnocchi. He was a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, a kind uncle, and a good friend. Mike will be immensely missed and eternally loved by those who knew him best daughter, Lisa (Bryan) Bommarito, and grandchildren, Dani and Alex Bommarito; son, Marc (Patti) Cammarata, and grandchildren, Logan and Carli Cammarata; sister-in-law, Lillian Marcin; Mike and Gina, Dennis and Lynn; Ronnie and Laura; Carmella and Cindy. Mike and Leo will both be missed by extended family who were privileged to call them Grandpa Mike and Grandma Leo, Dani, Alex, Logan, Carli Casey, Eric, Michael, Allan, Tyler, Chase, Christina, Jakey, Jerica, David, and Brian. In following Mike's wishes, a cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will take place on a warm summer day, on a beautiful lake where a toast will be raised to the good lives of Michael Cammarata and Leokadia Marshall.
