Nancy Ferchland Obituary

Ferchland

Nancy Jayne  Mount Prospect, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 6th in the loving care of her daughter Josette Day's family. Nancy was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 31, 1945, to Harold and Barbara Ferchland. She graduated from Birmingham Seaholm High School, Class of 1962. After several years working in the veterinary industry, Nancy founded Constant Companion Dog Training and proceeded to find her calling training and boarding dogs at her home, which she did until she was diagnosed with cancer. She was a friend to many and would do anything for someone in need. She volunteered at the Northwest Community Hospital bringing her dog to comfort patients. She loved to travel, Arizona, Greece, Costa Rica, France and recently returned from a cruise with friends and family. Surviving are daughter Josette Barbara Day, son-in-law, Gary Day, grandchildren, Lauren Day, Katherine Day, and Michael Day, of Barrington, Illinois. Sisters, June Ann Jordan of Centerville, Ohio, Beryl Lynne Bradick (Mark Bradick), of Troy, Michigan and Carey Jean Jernigan, of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Neices, Maureen McGinnis (Kevin Kleinstiver), Lanie O'Sullivan (Chris O'Sullivan), and Christine McGinnis. She had several beloved grand-neices and nephews, Jack and Elodie O'Sullivan and MacKenzie and Declan Kleinstiver. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Barbara Ferchland and her much loved canine companions Peppy, Harper, La Mutt and Mikko. A celebration of Nancy's amazing life is being planned in August. Donations in honor of Nancy can be made to Orphans of the Storm, 2200 Riverwoods Road, Deerfield IL 60015. Not sure what to say?

July 14, 2017

Nancy and Meeko were members of Team 9 at the hospital. She was so helpful to me and to my dog, Ellie May. We frequently worked together and she was always happy, cheerful and willing to take on whatever needed to be done as we visited patients at Northwest Community Hospital. Prayers of comfort to you and your family. Pat Monti and Ellie May

So sorry to hear about Nancy. She was on the same team as me at northwest community hospital with Meeko. Always a smile on her face and brought so much to the patients with her therapy dog work! Will miss her.

Our family is greatly saddened by Nancys passing. She trained and boarded both our dogs and she became a friend to us as well. We saw her recently as she was diagnosed and she still took care of the dogs as she had promised. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her family at this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Georgiana Macey and family
