Jason Robert Black

Jason was born in Livingston Montana, the son of Greg and Patti Black and an eighth-generation descendant of Captain George Donner of the Donner Party of Donner Pass.

Jason has always had a great love for the outdoors and all the animals. At the age of 16 he became part owner of a self-propelled baler, and he did all of the baling.

Jason was part of the San Juan Ramblers 4-H club. Jason had his own unique way of showing true kindness and compassion toward people he cared about or people he wanted to help. He enjoyed helping the young 4-H members, teaching them how to feed and care for their animals, teaching them about clipping their animals and the way to judge livestock animals. He really liked to teach livestock skills. He became a 4-H leader so that he could continue to help people. Jason liked playing football in high school, He later went on to help coach in football.

After graduating from Friday Harbor High School, he went to a meat-cutting school at Logan Utah.

He worked for Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm, Kings' Market and Market Place, Jim's Meat Market and Ron Louthan Construction.

Jason had a flock of sheep and sold lamb locally. He sheered sheep and alpacas. Jason also enjoyed working with cattle while on horseback, putting up hay and feeding cows.

He was a man of many talents. He was a meat cutter, a farmer, a rancher and spent a lot of time working with his parents and brothers Todd and Thor on Red Mill Farm.

Jason is survived by his parents Greg and Patti Black, brother Todd (Janel), his daughter Ashley, granddaughter Bristol, son Dustin, many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and special friends. All of our lives are better for being a part of Jason's life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother Thor.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Wilsall Cemetery.
