Lester Williams Obituary

Lester R. (Les) Williams, 81, passed away at Edgewood Memory Care in Belgrade, Montana on Friday, September 26, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Les was born to Lester S. and Geneva (Kramer) Williams in Bismarck, North Dakota on March 14, 1944. He joined his sister Pat and was later joined by brothers Francis and Bill. His Father passed away when Les was only four years old. His Mother resumed her nursing career to provide for the four children.

Les began his career of railroading in June of 1963 at the Northern Pacific Railway in Mandan, North Dakota. He rose through the Track Department and continued with the railroad amid its becoming the Burlington Northern Railway and finally the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He ended his 38 year railroading career as a Roadmaster in 2001.

Les met his future wife, Barbara Bouchee in July of 1965. They were married on August 27, 1966 in Livingston. The couple were blessed with three children, Christine, Stanley and Janet. In addition to family life with his wife and children Les enjoyed caring for his lawn and yard, ocean cruising with friends and family, attending railroad conventions and, of course, enjoying time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Christine (Shawn) Eggar, Janet (Wes) Weber and son Stan; grandson Harold (Kourtney Fell) Eggar, granddaughters Emily Eggar, and Dayna Weber and grandson Hayden Weber. Great granddaughter, Milam Grace (Miley) Eggar joined the family in 2024. He is also survived by his sister Pat Bouchee and his brother Francis (Cathy) Williams, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Bill.

All are invited to a memorial gathering on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Franzen Davis Funeral Home, 118 N. 3rd St in Livingston, Montana. Burial of the cremains will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Livingston immediately following the memorial service.
