William Harris Obituary
Bill lived his entire life in Livingston and Park County. Bill attended school in Livingston and participated in various sports, he was a member of the 1957 basketball team that won the State AA championship. He graduated from Park County High School in 1957 and married Judith Rae Harmon, his high school sweetheart, on June 21, 1959. As Bill and Judy were finishing college and starting a family they moved to Gardiner and began teaching careers. The family moved back to Livingston with their family of three boys and one girl and continued teaching and managing school administrative activities. After a period of time Bill started a new career path and undertook construction of stone masonry items. After years of doing this Bill retired to his home just outside Livingston with his wife Judy in a home they had built after moving back to Livingston in 1972.
Bill received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Montana State University in Education. He then completed his Master's of Science degree in Psychology also from Montana State after attending classes during summer breaks from teaching science classes at Gardiner High School.
Bill has been active in the community participating in the local Park County Genealogy and the Pioneers Society where he became president of the Society in 2015 to 2016. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Livingston.
Bill loved to attend sports events watching many Park High School and other nearby local school basketball and football games.
Bill was proceeded in death by Judy, his wife of 62 years, and his sons Tracey and Toby.
He is survived by his daughter Teddee of Livingston and son Tim of Bonsall, CA, his sister Sonja, and his brothers Stanley (M.D.), Greg, and Kent. He has three grandchildren in Montana, Oregon, and California and great-grandchildren in California and Oregon.
Plans are being made for a memorial service which will be held sometime this coming summer.
