Roberta O'Hara Obituary

Roberta O'Hara June 21, 1964 – April 18, 2021
Roberta O'Hara, aged 56, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2021. Roberta was born to Armando and Rosemary Castaneda on June 21, 1964 and was raised in La Mirada.
Roberta was married to George O'Hara for 32 years and they had one child together, Taylor Rose O'Hara. She opened her heart to stepchildren, Brian, and Kathy O'Hara. Roberta and George resided in Henderson, NV.
She began her career in Orange County, CA and honed her skills in payroll and human resources management. Roberta truly enjoyed her work and colleagues at Nevada Legal Services as Payroll and HR Manager where she worked for the last 12 years just before passing. T
o all those who knew Roberta, she was a devoted mother and wife, loving sister, daughter, and friend. Roberta was smart, sharp, vibrant, funny, and always up for an adventure. She enjoyed life to its fullest and took advantage of the myriad of shows and music in Las Vegas, river trips in Bull Head City with family, weekly trivial pursuit tournaments, and adventures from New York to Oregon with family, friends, and cousins.
When she wasn't working or traveling, she was dedicated to her health and fitness and enjoyed all types of fitness classes. She had a beautiful, fun, engaging spirit and was always the life of the party.
Roberta fought courageously through her battle with breast cancer and though her light no longer shines on earth, Roberta's eternal life gives those she leaves behind great comfort.
The family will be having a "Celebration of Life" to honor this wonderful lady who we all sorely miss: Saturday, May 29, 2021 10:30 a.m. at Saint Killian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Drive, Mission Viejo, CA 92691. Donations can be made to City of Hope in lieu of flowers. City of Hope.

I think of you everyday Sis and miss you so much! I recently came across your photos of your road trip to Utah in the Cruise America campers. You were determined to travel despite not feeling well. This was your last trip. I could tell you were getting tired. But you were always such a trooper and up for an adventure. Love you to the moon and back!

Berta - you would have been so proud of your beautiful, Taylor Rose. She gave the most touching, heartfelt eulogy for you, her precious mom. There was not a dry eye in the church. You were a wonderful mother to Taylor and she cherished her mom. You were always there for her when she woke up in the morning and to say goodnight before going to bed. You always had perfect advice and words of wisdom to share with her. She will not forget just how lucky she was to have you for her mom. You raised her well dear sis!

Your memorial - celebration of life - was more beautiful than we imagined it would be. There were probably 120 dear friends and family who attended - you were loved by many. Some of your co-workers and friends from Las Vegas got up at 4am to drive to Mission Viejo to say goodbye and then were turning around after the church service to go back to Vegas. The flowers were beautiful and the priest at Saint Killian's delivered a personable service that you would have loved. We had lunch afterwards at a sports bar close to the church and they did a great job of serving around 80 people. Then, lunch was followed by a gathering at Becca and Mike's. All in all, it was your kind of day!

Sis - We just got back from our annual Lake Tahoe trip and I couldn't help but think of all the many summers we shared at Incline Village in Lake Tahoe. You were the only person who would go out paddle boarding with me and you never missed a hike! I didn't make it out on a paddle board this year; I didn't want to go without you - it's too sad. Maybe next year. We went on the evening catamaran cruise and Lauren, Marshall, and I know you would have loved it. We thought about you and how much you loved having an adventure! You were always up for a bike ride, hike, paddle boarding, river rafting, and if it meant getting up early you didn't care, you would just do it. I miss you so much and still think of you as away on a vacation. I know you will always be with me in my heart and spirit. I will cherish all of our wonderful memories and good times together. No one can make me laugh the way you did - you cracked me up! Cheers to you for embracing adventure!
