ERNEST M. "BUDDY" BRUNI, JR.
November 13, 1933 - November 10, 2021
Ernest M. "Buddy" Bruni, Jr. died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, in Laredo, Texas. Buddy was born on Nov. 13, 1933, in Laredo. He was a prominent rancher, civic leader, philanthropist, and avid golfer.
Buddy joins his parents in eternal rest, Lilia Longoria Bruni and Ernest M. Bruni, Sr.; and his grandson, Matthew Bruni Sames.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Jacaman Bruni; his sister, Evelyn Bruni Summers (Carroll); his mother-in-law, Fairris Jacaman; and his children and their spouses: Ernest M. "Rocky" Bruni, III (Patty); Micki Bruni Young (Paul); Triana Bruni Sames (Richard); and Lilia Bruni Wetsel (Brandon). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ernest M. Bruni IV (Ginger); Sarah Crow (Phillip); Catherine Bruni; Brandon Jones; Richard Sames, Jr.; David Sames; Peyton Wetsel and Taylor Wetsel. Great-grandchildren are Caroline Crow and Edward "Tad" Crow, Landon Bruni, and Sydney Bruni.
Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.at Joe Jackson Funeral Chapels North, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Mass will be streamed live at: https://www.facebook.com/SaintPatrickChurchLaredoTx.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandson.
Honorary pallbearers are: Phillip Crow, Pepe Treviño, Tad Brittingham, Renato Zapata, Jay Trautmann, Art Melendez, Justin Jacaman, Clayton Burns, Abe Wilson, Paul Young, and George Light.
The family would like to thank Buddy's steadfast staff: Rosie Madrid, Florinda Contreras, Gustavo Ortega, and Mari Madrid.

So sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Bruni I have such great memories of him with all of y´all growing up. Rest assured he is in Peace with our Lord. God bless Linda and all the Bruni children and grandchildren. I send my condolences.
