It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jose Rolando Cavazos, who departed this life on July 4, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on October 3, 1950, Jose embraced life with a warmth and generosity that touched all who had the honor of knowing him.
A devoted father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and friend, Jose's legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind. For over 40 years, he served as part owner of Cavazos Air Freight Services, a family business he cultivated alongside his father and brothers. His dedication and commitment not only to his work but also to his family have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to experience his kindness.
Jose was a man of exceptional character, unmatched in his ability to engage in conversation with anyone he met. His approachable nature and infectious spirit fostered relationships that transcended the ordinary, enabling friendships that will endure through time. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he had an enduring passion for boxing, a sport that reflected his spirited determination and love for competition.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Berta Isaura Cavazos; brothers, Antonio Cavazos Jr., Hector V. Cavazos, Rodolfo Cavazos, Carlos Z. Cavazos, Roberto Cavazos, and sister, Berta A. Cavazos.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jose Rolando (Yazmin) Cavazos, Jr., Roel Ivan Cavazos; grandchildren, Alexa M. Cavazos, Andrew Cavazos, Jose Rolando Cavazos III, Brissia Cavazos, Anthony Cavazos, Demi Cavazos, Nathan Cavazos, Zane Cavazos, Joeley Cavazos, Ivan Cavazos, Alessandra Cavazos, Kenneth Cavazos; siblings, Juanita Imelda Cavazos, Julio Cavazos, Jesus (Francisca) Cavazos; sisters-in-law, Carmen Cavazos, Estela Cavazos, and the mother of his children, Norma Cavazos; as well as numerous other relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday morning, July 10, 2025 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jose R. Cavazos, Jr., Roel I. Cavazos, Jose R. Cavazos III, Anthony Cavazos, Andrew Cavazos, and Ivan Cavazos.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Julio Cavazos, Jesus Cavazos, Nathan Cavazos and Zane Cavazos.
