Menita Flores Obituary

Menita Flores, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered the kingdom of Heaven on the morning of February 25, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in Zapata, Texas. She was 98 years old.
Menita lived a long full life, and we are the better for having been part of it. She was a person of faith and was strongly devoted to her family. She actively served the community that she loved for many years. Her generous spirit and loving guidance will be missed, and her passing will forever leave a void in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her.
Menita is preceded in death by her husband, Angel Flores, daughter, Sandra Flores, son, Angel Flores, Jr., parents, Leonardo and Eugenia Flores, sister, Iris Astrid Flores, and her brothers, Juventino Flores and Leonardo G. Flores.
She is survived by her son, David (Irma) Flores, grandchildren, Michael Flores, Carlos A. (Misha) Flores, Linda (Josh Allen) Flores, Judy (Pavan Kadandale) Davis, great-grandchildren, Levon Allen Flores, William Carlos Allen Flores, and sister-in-law, Lucila Flores. Menita is also survived by many close friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, at Rose Garden Funeral Home in Zapata Texas. We will open at 8:30 a.m. with a rosary at 9:00 a.m. The funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral mass officiated by Bishop Daniel E. Flores at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Zapata, Texas.
Committal service followed at Zapata County cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rose Garden Funeral Home Daniel A. Gonzalez, Funeral Director, 2102 N. US HWY 83 Zapata, Texas.
