Alice Gornto Obituary

On the early morning of January 5, 2017, Alice entered Heaven's gates after a long three year battle with chronic illnesses. Alice was visited, comforted and always surrounded by friends, pastors and family members. Alice was 78 years old.
Alice Gornto was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on March 2, 1938 to Rosie Simpson and Wilse Brock. She was united in marriage to Royal E. Gornto on October 7 1954, in Palatka, Florida. They were married 62 blissful years.
Alice was a homemaker, a minister, an inspiring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader of the Bible. She was always willing and loved, when given the opportunity to preach to her congregation. She loved to spread God's word to anyone that wanted to hear it. She loved flowers, birds and her cats. It has been said that anywhere Alice made a home she would always plant a weeping willow and roses.
Alice was predeceased by her son Barry Gornto. She is survived by her husband Royal E. Gornto. Her children and spouses: Roy and Barbara Gornto, June and Topper De La Rosa, Bruce and Opie Gornto, Gary and Julie Gornto, Terry and Maria Gornto, Tracy and David Ruby, Jennifer Gornto, Jerry Gornto and Timothy Gornto. To a Woman in whom has sown spiritual seed in my life and along the way of my life has helped set my feet on the road to Righteousness and now I have become a woman as herself a Woman of God's! When she set herself on the road to Righteousness, she did not look back at what she left and pushed forward to becoming a Pastor and being Obedient to the Lord God and served Him to the fullest in all she did and to her it brought Joy to serve the Lord Jesus! As I saw a photo of her closed to her of her going home to be with Lord; I studied her photo and in her photo she had her Bible next to her on a table with her notes sticking out of It and as I have always have seen her study the Word of God it brought Joy to my heart and now as she steps into Eternity, our Lord and Savior says, Well done good and faithful Servant, I feel nothing but joy and peace! She now knows the full knowledge of God, Praise God, Paul the Apostle said, " To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Mmmm Praise God, and she stands with family and friends; I look forward to see you and my Dad and Mom again one day when it is time for me to come home, I love you my Aunt and will miss you!
