Allen Parton Obituary

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Allen Parton at his home in Walnut Grove on December 26, 2022.  He was born in Hayward, CA on October 4, 1949 and lived most of his life in the Lodi area, graduating from Lodi High in 1967.  Al was preceded in death by his father Rolla Giddens, his mother Donna Parton, his wonderful stepfather Howard Parton, beloved wife and soul-mate Melinda Parton, his cherished daughter Jenny and two brothers Jerry Parton and Greg Parton.  He is survived by his brother Rod Giddens of Cascade, ID, sister Deborah McKnight of Medford, OR, one nephew James Giddens, a niece April Marsh and a niece Julie Nixon. Al will be missed by all especially his two best buddies Gizmo and Trouble.
Although Al worked hard all his life he always found time for his friends and family.  He was always there when needed, always cheerful and never missed a chance to pass on a joke he had heard.  Al enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, basketball, golf and his hobbies included  stamp collecting and native American art.  It is difficult to sum up a life this diverse with so few words and the attempt seems so inadequate.  He touched the lives of so many.  Al spent a great deal of time in the Delta with friends and family and his cremains will be lovingly reunited there with his family. RIP... hear now the echos of broken hearts.

I was saddened to hear of Allen's passing. We grew up together going to the same church. Many wonderful memories. The last time I saw Allen was up in Idaho where we spent many hours reminiscing about the good times we had.

Saddened to hear of cousin Allen´s passing, this brings back 70 years of memories of our cousin gatherings at the Lodi dairy on 8 mile road, trips to Oregon and the gatherings at Aunt Donna´s and Uncle Howard´s... He was a great and very talented cousin who could do just about anything and will be missed. Thank you Rod and Becky for all you have done.
Sandy and I send our deepest condolences to Debby, Rodney and Becky and the many friends he had during this difficult time. RIP Allen and we will see you again..
Love ya Cousin

Wow what a shock to hear about Allen. We grew up togetheras we lived down the street from one another. We were roommates in college & shared an apartment for a couple of years until he married Melinda. I always admired his talents- he could play by ear on the piano popular songs he heard on the radio. He was excellent at sports, especially basketball & ping pong. I will miss his friendly smile. Merle Franz
