ALPHONSUS FURR Obituary

Al was born in Loveland Colorado on November 12, 1938 and died on August 29, 2025 in Lodi.
He attended Colorado University and enlisted in the Army in 1960. He relocated to California in 1981.
In 1985 he moved to Lodi. He had a long career as a Mortgage Broker and also owned Acorn Financial. His final years he worked at World Savings and retired at age 70.
Al was active in Stockton Morning Rotary, Sirs, Knights of of Columbus and Garden Club.
He and his wife Lee enjoyed boating in the Delta and San Francisco Bay and was a member of The Stockton Yacht Club. After retirement one could always find him working in the yard with his passion for gardening. He was a member of Saint Anne's Catholic Church and took great pride in being a greeter always wearing a suit and tie even in the hottest summer days.
Al is survived by his wife of 39 years Lee Geldert Furr, his son Steven and wife Fatima, three stepchildren; Lisa, Brad and Lynn Geldert and two sisters Mary Wilkerson of Wyoming and Alberta Winslow of Colorado and 5 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Annes Catholic Church on September 26th at 11:00am.

Al was such a good guy. I knew him for many years. I am a Realtor and he was a lender. Al was very creative in his lending and knew how to get things done. He also had a great sense of humor and was a fun loving guy. Sucks that we have to get old. Al will not be forgotten. Love and prayers for his family and many friends.

Al was a great neighbor & friend. Always ready to chat and share a good story anytime of day. He looked after his beautiful garden proudly and loved sharing in it´s bounty whether it be fruits, herbs, flowers or plants.
We will miss Al´s friendly smile and steady presence here in our neighborhood.
May he rest in eternal comfort and peace in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ
