Dorothy Patzer Obituary

Dorothy Patzer passed peacefully on September 22, 2010, with family and friends at her bedside. She was the caregiver of the family and always made sure that every detail was in place. She was sweet, strong and feisty with a quick and naughty wit which endeared her to all who met her. She will be remembered with love and with the knowledge that she has been reunited with her sweet husband "Al", to whom she was married for 68 years, and all her family gone before her. She loved the Island of Maui and traveled there 14 times, so join us not in saying goodbye, but rather "Aloha" to a wonderful and amazing woman.
Her family would like to express their deep appreciation for the exceptional and loving care provided by the wonderful staff of Palm Valley Care over the last several years. A special heartfelt thanks to Aurora, her BFF, Ernie, Bong, Belin, Joey, who helped her cross over, and to Mika and Kim. The support given to Dorothy and her family over the last year by Bristol Hospice was unbelievable and we will be eternally grateful for the remarkable nurses and chaplains.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jerri Scott and son-in-law, Ralph Scott of Elk Grove; granddaughter, Carrie Jenkins of Sacramento; niece, Pam Nelson of Lodi; nephews, Rick (Luanne) Nichols and great-nephew, Garrison Nichols of Chico; Verne Nichols; nieces, Jackie Lance and Barbara Robertson, both of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lillian (Valentine) Nichols; husband, Alvin Patzer; and brothers, Verne, Don, and Jack Nichols. Friends are invited to visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, October 1st, at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. Memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Hospice, 2140 Professional Drive, Ste.210, Roseville, CA 95661. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
