Dorothy Wylie Obituary

Dorothy Wylie (formerly Todd), daughter of Jack and Isabella Todd, was born in Balkerie near Forfar, Scotland. The seventh of eight children, Dorothy and her family lived on a farm and shared many happy times together.
At age 18, Dorothy and sister Helen and their parents moved to Dundee where she trained as a dental assistant. In 1963, she met her future husband Jimmy Wylie at a dance. They married at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Lochee on September 3rd 1966. Daughter Debbie was born the following year with son Steve arriving in 1969. In December 1969, they immigrated to the United States and settled in San Jose, CA where Dorothy's other siblings lived. They settled in Campbell in 1972 and in 1974, daughter Katherine was born.
Dorothy was an amazing and loving wife and mother to her family. In 1989, they moved to Lodi where they made many more friends and stayed there for 20 years. In 2009, she and Jim moved to Half Moon Bay where Jim built their beautiful home for retirement. They always worked together as a team in everything including planting their vegetable garden and making their backyard a beautiful array of flowers.
Family was very important to Dorothy throughout her entire life and she loved sharing stories and jokes with her siblings. Dorothy took great joy not only in her children, but also her six grandchildren. She could always be found in the stands of a game or performance cheering them on. She saw all of her children happily married and loved each of their spouses as her own children. She died as she lived - with love, grace, and peace.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of over 47 years Jim, her children Debbie and husband Jonny, Steve and wife Darcy, and Katherine with husband Marcel, her grandchildren Graham, Ben, Emma, Matthew, Anne Marie, and Jessica, as well as her siblings Jack, Chrissie, Dave, Maragaret, and Helen. I'm so sorry to hear this. I met Dorothy (and Jim) when she was running the "pack and ship" out of Lodi Office Products years ago. She was such a wonderful, caring person. My condolences to the family.
