Eric Redden Obituary

On March 22nd 1964, the force that was Eric W. Redden was brought in to this world. On August 30th 2021 Eric passed on to be with his mother, Sally Esparsen, brothers, sister and oldest son, Tony.
In his life, Eric was an anomaly. Eric spent half of his life in Galt & the latter half in the Lodi/Stockton area. He was the nicest, meanest, most caring, loving, crude, rude and sweetest man you may have ever met. He would give you the shirt off of his back (but he probably wasn't wearing one). He was a Master Carpenter & could drive a 16 penny nail with one swing. He had a special knack for mechanical work and could build a motor like nobody's business. He was also an amazing writer. He was so vain, he probably thought that song was about him. Eric truly found peace in the end of his life. He shared 3 children with Cathy Borges, Tony Martin Redden (1983-2014),  Ricky Earl Redden & Christine Marie Redden. His legacy lives on through his 6 Grandchildren, Ricky (16), Monroe (15), Kailey (13), Leif (12), Jordan(8) & Fox (8). He had tons of nieces & nephews and a  large "Unconventional Family"  he loved as if their last name was Redden too.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Monterey Park, 1170 Monterey Bay Ct, Galt, CA 95632, Sunday September 26th at 11AM. Food & drinks will be provided, come as you are.

Crazy that this last year went by so fast old man. As I lay here, another night where I just can´t sleep, I think about you. I wonder why the things in life happen the way they do, when they do. It seems that right when you think you have it all figured out, life smacks you in the face to let you know you are nowhere near catching on. Out of everything I don´t know, I do know that I miss you Dad. Say hi to my big brother for me. Love you, Ricky

It´s crazy how fast time flies. I remember being a tiny little boy and standing on the corner in the small town I was raised in waiting for my Dad to come home and have dinner. I remember as a child thinking that time was infinite and moved so slow, so it would be absolutely forever before I grew up. I remember being completely aware that my Dad was absolutely invincible. It´s crazy now looking back on those moments and realizing how fast they moved by. Realizing that I now, am definitely absolutely invincible to my children. On these nights when I just can´t sleep I truly take the time to reflect on how short and precious life is. My relationship with my Dad was sometimes tumultuous, sometimes spectacular, sometimes non existent and always full of love. For anyone that may come across this, now or years down the road, make sure and enjoy your life to the fullest and never miss an opportunity to share it with the people you love. I am beyond grateful that Eric was my Dad. For all of his shortcomings I try to double up and for all his strong suits I hope to try and be his equal. Rest In Peace Old Man. -Ricky

Eric was the type of man that could yell at me or tell me something so sweet and both would make me feel so special. If he was yelling at you that meant he cared about you and you must have meant alot to him or "you weren't holding the flashlight right". I'm so happy that at the end of his life he just got to be grampa. I will always honor you in my home. I will cherish the memories I was privilege with sharing with you. My heart is hurting for you my sister. You will always be daddy's baby. Us daddy's girls know that type of love and there is no other that can compare. My husband Ricky the way you honor your father in this time when I see how every step is so painful really shows not only the type of man you are but the type of son you are. One of his last thing he said to me was how proud he was of the man you turned out to be. He was such a proud grandfather and father and really spend the end of his life trying to do the right thing. I love you Eric you will alway be a loving father in law who I will share your story's and memories with all these beautiful grandchildren you have.
