Eugene Lovato Obituary

Eugene N. Lovato, passed away on July 9th at Corina Elderly Home in Elk Grove. He has been battling a lengthy illness since November 2011, and suffers no more.
Eugene was married on November 24, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to his beloved wife Gladys Marie Coklin. Together they raised three children; Judith Ann, Barbara Jean, and Robert Donald.
The family moved from Chicago, Ill., in 1945 to Oakland, Ca where they resided until moving to Hayward Ca in 1956.
Eugene worked in the Automotive Machinist Industry for many years. He retired and moved to Newark, Ca in the late 1980's. He was an avid bowler, and continued bowling until he was 93.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys in 1984, and brothers: Manuel, Greg, and Robert; sisters: Antonia, Amelia, Susan, Frances, and Mae, son: Robert Donald, and Daughter Judith Ann.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Jean Lovato Griffin; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grand children, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a Rosary on Tuesday July 17th, at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Galt with Father Miguel Silva officiating. A Reception is to follow at Brewsters in Galt.
Committal will be on Wednesday July 18th, at 1p.m., at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, Ca with Father Paul Vassar.
