I met Gary several years ago while we both volunteered at the library here in Lodi. What an amazing human being he was. We swapped stories as we worked and I found out about his love of cats. Never met a cat he could ignore and the neighborhood strays all knew this. Shared alot of pictures of his pets and his cabin up near Lake Alpine. We often talked about the weather especially storms and snow levels. I believe he was truly an amateur meteorologist and many times he shared photos of local weather events with the TV stations (so much so that they knew Gary by name and included his name and pictures in broadcasts).
We were poles apart politically but I never met another person with more love and concern for others. After Covid we bumped into each other at the local grocery or out on our bikes. Always had a smile or funny story. He will be missed. We at the library were lucky to have known him. Be at peace Gary

I never got the chance to meet you, though I wish I had. I still remember the invitation you sent me when I was younger, and I´m sorry I couldn´t come. You were thought of, even from afar. May you rest in peace.

Gary always had a play on word joke for me when he came in to exercise. He will be sorely missed.
