Janet Cravens-Prather Obituary

In loving memory of Jan Prather who peacefully passed away early Saturday morning in her home. She went to join her husband Hank Prather who had passed just a year ago. She grew up in Modesto and lived most of her life in the area. She worked at Payless Market in Lockeford for serveral years. She started as a cashier where people would stand in long lines just to see her. She became the head of the bakery department there where she loved to bake.
She is survived by her brother, Jeff Cravens of Modesto; her sister, Joy Castillo of Manteca; son, Sean Prather who had been taking care of her till the very end. Her daughter, Luzanne Shapley of Turlock; grandson, Brandon Greer of Turlock; and granddaughter, Tiffany Smith of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
She loved the mountains, her family, and her pets who were like her children.
She was the kindest lady and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Everyone is welcome to bring your memories, stories and love of Jan to Moose Lodge, 4713 West Main Street, Turlock on September 27th, from noon to 2 p.m.
